I want to show those that I love, and those that I don't know, that they do not need to be imprisoned in their own bodies. They can be set free with a bit of information and dedication.
Personal Information: I am a 30 year old career woman and wife. I work as a Technical Writer for a specialty pharmacy, and am married to the man of my dreams! I grew up in a very active, clean-eating household; but soon found myself living a life that was just the opposite. I am happy to say that I have come full circle and am enjoying being healthy and fit.
What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?
Any time I can set a goal, and meet it in spite of great adversity, I consider it a great accomplishment. Here are a handful from this year:
*Stepping on stage for my very first competition at the 2011 Kentucky Muscle.
*Losing 10% body fat in 5 months.
*Leg pressing over 400 lbs (what can I say... I love the leg press!)
*Losing over 40 lbs since January 7, 2011.
*Not giving up!
Transformation info - How much have you changed in what period of time. What things have most helped you make that transformation?
I lost 43 lbs since January 7, 2011 (10 months time). I did not begin measuring my body fat until mid-June. I was 26.1% at that time. Now I am 15.9% (almost 5 months later). Clean eating can not be stressed enough for anyone looking to make changes. Nutrition first. Exercise second. Beyond that, having a custom meal and exercise plan took all of the guess work out of it for me. Working with Julie as an online trainer, and then with Team FitBody made all of the difference.
What do you enjoy most about fitness?
I love to feel empowered. I love to feel strong. I want all women to feel this way, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Being fit is one of the most unselfish things you can do. The stronger you are, the more you can help and empower others.
What are your fitness goals?
More muscle. Less fat. As long as I am moving in this direction, I am a happy lady.
What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
My current and future family. I decided to lose the extra weight before I started my family. I have committed to being a fit and healthy mother that sets healthy examples for her children through her own behaviors. I also want to show those that I love, and those that I don't know, that they do not need to be imprisoned in their own bodies. They can be set free with a bit of information and dedication.
What is the best part about working with Julie?
There is something about working with someone that is destined to do what they are doing. That is Julie. She not only has the experience and knowledge - she still leads by example and never asks us to do something that she hasn't done.
What is the worst part about working with Julie?
No bad parts at all!
