And while protein shakes are a quick and effective way to incorporate protein powder into your daily nutrition regimen, sometimes you long for something more.  That is why I decided to create the best protein powder recipes on the web and give those to you for free!

Why Is Protein Important?

Every gym across America is buzzing about the latest high protein, low carb diet these days whether it be a traditional low carb plan or a radical version of the ketogenic diet.  While extreme versions of these high protein diets are not good for long term weight loss and healthy balance, it is important to get enough protein in your diet.

I am often asked if you can bake with protein powder instead of flour.  While I do not recommend a one for one swap, it is possible to save calories and increase the protein content of your food by using some of each.  In most situations, I recommend taking a recipe and dividing the amount of flour you use in half.  If your recipe calls for 1 cup of flour, then you can use ½ cup of flour and ½ cup of protein powder to get a similar texture.

Low Carb Protein Powder Recipes

If you are following a low carb or keto diet then low carb protein powder recipes can be your best friend!  One of the most difficult parts about a keto or low carb diet is missing out on bread and sweets.  By subbing out higher carb flour for protein powder or modifying recipes to include protein powder you can get that sweet taste that is simply tough to find with this type of dieting.
