Kelly Vaupel

    Personal Information

    I am 35 years old and a marketing professional that works very long days.  I enjoy taking breaks from my busy schedule to train with my husband, Matt, and play with our energetic Welsh Terrier, Whisky.

    Many years ago, I learned fitness basics from a friend who owns her own gym.  She taught me about muscle groups, exercises and fitness, and she trained me until I saw results.  The strength and endurance I developed helped me to improve my performance in sports, and I realized the value of planning, training and sticking with it for success.

    What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

    The strength and motivational results that I have achieved are my greatest accomplishments.

    In addition, I have placed in the following competitions.

    2009 Junior CA Championships – Bikini 3rd place

    2009 Pacific USA Nationals – Bikini 4th place

    2012 NPC Bev Francis Atlantic States – Bikini 7th place

    2012 NPC Philadelphia Championships – Bikini 3rd place

    2012 NPC KY State Championships – Bikini 4th place

    What do you enjoy most about fitness?

    Results!  It’s so rewarding to plan, work hard and see results. It’s also a great way to relieve stress.

    What are your fitness goals?

    I want to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, motivate and inspire others to achieve their goals and become an IFBB Pro.

    What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

    There are many people who aren’t able to maintain a healthy lifestyle for a variety of reasons.  Every day, I feel very fortunate to be able to stay fit and experience all the benefits it offers.

    What is the best part about working with Julie?

    Julie is a great coach and mentor.  She is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in fitness and competitions.  Julie responds with feedback quickly and has provided me with ongoing motivation and training plans to achieve my goals.  We started working together, and within 4 months, I was ready to compete.  She guided me through a very comprehensive contest preparation plan.  I’m so grateful that I’ve had the chance to work with Julie.

    What is the worst part about working with Julie?

    Only that I didn’t get to see her very often

    Favorite 'diet' food:

    Oats with vanilla Ultimate Muscle Protein

    Time is of the essence – make every moment count.  We all have busy schedules, and it’s easy to skip a workout or eat unhealthy meals.  I have found that planning ahead is most important to keep me from deviating away from my plan.  Working with Julie has made planning even easier.  She has helped me adjust my training program for my busy lifestyle to ensure success.
