    Personal Information

    I am a 29 year old newlywed.  I am a police officer and a certified spinning instructor with no time to instruct at the moment. I am married to my wonderful husband, Josh, who is also a police officer and Army Reserve officer.

    I have come to realize I constantly need a goal to avoid boredom at the gym.  I wanted a new challenge so I started competing in 2009.  There are not many trainers or coaches in the area so I was left guessing and learning along the way.  I read about Julie Lohre in Oxygen magazine and thought it was awesome that she had contest prep programs.  Once I started competing in Kentucky I got to see this first hand.  I was still making improvements at each competition but I was not where I wanted to be.  After hanging out with the Fitbody girls back stage at the 2012 Kentucky Derby, I knew what I needed to do.  I even saw Julie in person.  Just sitting back and listening to what was going on I was sold.  I emailed Julie in the summer and started working with Julie in August!

    What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

    I have stopped getting so caught up on numbers.  How I look and feel is what matters.  I now have a much better understanding of clean eating and I can maintain a much better physique in the off seasons.

    WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

    After working with Julie I made a lot of improvements.  I stepped on stage in September with 17% body fat placing 3rd in Novice Figure at the 2012 NPC Circle City Championships.  By October I dropped to 14% body fat placing 2nd in Open Figure at the 2012 Tricky Jackson Classic.

    What do you enjoy most about fitness?

    I love the challenge of competing against myself.  I love the competition weekends getting to make new fitness friends and spending time with the other Fitbody ladies.

    What are your fitness goals?

    My fitness goals are to get another top 5 at a national qualifier, go on to nationals, and one day get my Pro Card.

    What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

    Looking at my past struggles motivate me to stay healthy.  I feel so much better when I am eating clean and working out.  I love sharing my experiences with friends and helping them understand how important eating clean is.  In my line of work it is very common to see a cop eat a donut or run through a drive-thru.  The public perceives a “fat cop” as a weak one for the most part.  If you look like a “soup sandwich” in your uniform no one will take you serious.  I sure don’t even want to be “that guy” that can’t stay in the fight or run after a suspect.

    What is the best part about working with Julie?

    Julie is a wonderful coach.  I had no idea I would get step by step instructions through contest prep and feel so confident by the end.  Julie definitely exceeds my expectations for a coach.  She gives you all the tools you need.  Julie is not just a coach but a leader, friend, and kind hearted person.  Julie truly cares about each client and wants nothing but success for each.   This doesn’t mean she expects 1st place finishes out of everyone each time, it means you improve and bring your best you to the table.  If you bring the best you, you already won.
