I am 36 years old and manage/own a heating and cooling company with my husband. I am also a high school swim coach, a club swim coach, and a fitness instructor at Fit For The King, our local fitness center. I am a certified Youth Fitness instructor, Group Fitness Instructor, Core and Functional Fitness Instructor, Pilates Instructor, Kickboxing Instructor, and Nutrition Specialist. I am also the co-founder of our local 10K Team in Training program. I enjoy anything that involves encouraging others to exercise and be healthy.
I feel all of the races I have finished from 5k’s to marathons and all the triathlons I have completed are all great accomplishments. The physical and mental ability to complete a marathon is a huge accomplishment in itself and I am currently training for my 3rd marathon in Columbus, Ohio, in October.
I have been exercising consistently for the last 9 years. When I first started, after the birth of my daughter, I was a size 18 and weighed almost 190 pounds. I desperately wanted to change, so I started going to the gym 3 days a week and eating healthier. It continued to escalate from there and I am now a fitness fanatic. Before starting with Julie I had lost a total of 39 pounds over a 9 year span. I started with Julie in April and since then I have lost another 8.5 pounds and 3% body fat. The biggest things I feel that contributed to my change are the eating program, the continual mix of strength training and the support I have received from my husband, John and great friend, Melissa Jackson.
Fitness/working out gives me the feeling of a sense of accomplishment. After my workouts, except about 2 hours after a marathon and lack of leg mobility then and the next day, I feel energized and motivated to get on with my day. By the way, the “high” after completing a marathon stays with you a long time!!!
I would like to train for and complete an Ironman Triathlon. Due to the time constraints at this point in my life, that is a five year goal. My goal now is to continue to loose body fat, maintain my current fitness/aerobic level, and to motivate others.
I want to be a role model for my daughter, my swimmers, and my clients. I want them to see that hard work and perseverance pays off even as they get older and that they can accomplish 100% of anything at which they are willing to give 100%.
She is a jewel. Through the online training, Julie has shown much concern and passion towards my needs and concerns. She is quick to respond and has listened on so many occasions through my ups and downs.
Absolutely nothing, but I would like to meet her in person someday!

Being fit and healthy is not a diet, it is a lifestyle!! It requires hard work day in day out and the motivation to continue even when you feel like stopping. If you haven’t already, find someone who gives you that “after workout” feeling, that high of “I can’t wait until my next workout.” My husband once said to me “it’s not about where you are going, it’s about how you get there.” Enjoy your workouts!!
