I am a 41-year old mother of two and a full-time USAF reservist. I have always lived an active life style from growing up in Finland ice skating and cross-country skiing to lifting weights for as long as I can remember. I enjoy trying new things be it yoga, kettlebells or salsa lessons. I like to live on the adventurous side so I am also a civilian flight instructor and ride a motorcycle, a Honda CBR600.
I do enjoy quiet time as well and love reading when I have some free time. I like to live a healthy life and want to be a good role model for my children. There’s nothing I like better than going out to the track with them for some sprints and to kick the soccer ball around.
I just participated in my first figure competition, Kentucky Muscle, and that was a big accomplishment for me personally. I started in a pretty good place and didn’t have a lot of fat to lose but I did struggle with the structured diet and the amount of food I had to eat to put on more muscle. I had never in my life been on any kind of diet and it was challenging to stick to it especially in the last few weeks.
I have never been overweight in my whole life but that doesn’t mean I have always been fit. I read everything I can get my hands on regarding proper nutrition and different types of fitness regimes. No matter how hard I worked I never quite managed to reach my fitness goals until I joined Julie’s Fitbody Team. The monthly meetings and the support I received from her and the other fantastic women I met through her made all the difference and gave me the necessary motivation to keep at it.
I love the way I feel when I’m fit. I feel like I can accomplish anything.
I definitely want to maintain my current fitness level and continue building more muscle. I’m going to continue competing as it really is a great motivator and gives you something to shoot for.
I want to be able to enjoy life no matter what my age and staying fit and eating healthy are the only way I can affect it. I also want to be an inspiration to other people around me and encourage them to do the same.
Julie is genuinely interested in helping you reach your goals. She never ignores even my silliest questions and is very patient and so much FUN!
Well, there is no worst part, but I do sometimes feel like she’s sitting right there on my shoulder like a little pixie watching after me and reminding me not to give in to temptation.
I really do love my UMP protein pancakes, and look forward to them every morning!
