Rebuilding Strength Over 40 With Online Fitness Coaching
When Danni Borron first reached out to me, she was ready for change.
At 42, she was a lifelong athlete—a gymnast turned doctor of physical therapy—who had spent nearly two decades helping others recover from injuries and rebuild their strength. But after hip surgery and months away from the gym, Danni found herself in an unfamiliar place.
“The strategies that worked for me in the past weren’t working anymore,” she said. “I could drop calories, add cardio, and push myself harder, but nothing was changing. It was mentally exhausting.”
For someone who had always been active, that realization was tough. She didn’t lack motivation—she needed a plan that worked for her body now.
Finding the Right Fit
As a physical therapist, Danni had plenty of options close to home. But what she wanted was something more personal—and more specific.

“There are coaches at my gym,” she shared, “but I wanted someone who understood what it’s like to be a woman over 40 going through hormonal and metabolic changes. I wanted a coach who could help me train smarter and who had been there herself. That’s what drew me to Julie.”
When Danni began working with me in my FITBODY Online Training Program, we started by reworking everything from the ground up—her nutrition, her training structure, and her mindset around what “progress” really meant.
From the start, she was open, consistent, and eager to learn.
Real Progress, Real Results

Over nine months together, Danni’s transformation was remarkable—not because of extreme dieting or endless workouts, but because of balance, consistency, and trust in the process.
Danni’s 9-Month Progress Snapshot
| Measurement / Test | Change |
|---|---|
| Weight | 15 lbs lost |
| Estimated Fat Loss | ~20 lbs of body fat lost |
| Estimated Muscle Gain | ~5 lbs gained |
| Chest | -5 inches |
| Waist | -4 inches |
| Hips | -4 inches |
| Thighs (each) | -3 inches |
| Pushups | +27 reps |
| Resting Heart Rate | Improved cardiovascular health |
| 1-Mile Run | 1:30 faster |
| Flexibility | +5 inches |
| Long Jump | +13 inches |
Danni’s body composition changed dramatically, but so did her energy, confidence, and sense of control.
“I look more toned and fit than I did at my lowest weight five years ago,” she said. “I used to think being lean meant eating less and doing more cardio, but now I know it’s about working smarter, not harder.”
A Smarter Approach to Nutrition
One of the biggest shifts came through nutrition. Danni had always been disciplined with food, but learning how to balance her macros—especially increasing protein and fiber—completely changed the game.

“My macro numbers helped me reach outside the box I’d been in,” she said. “I started experimenting with new recipes, eating foods I used to avoid, and actually fueling my workouts instead of starving through them.”
Her focus on hydration also became a daily ritual. “I fill my shaker the night before and start every day with 20 to 30 ounces of water. It’s made such a difference.”
When a recent colonoscopy revealed she has a redundant colon, Danni realized how much these new habits were helping beyond aesthetics. “Eating more fiber and drinking enough water are now part of my lifestyle—not just part of a plan.”
Rebuilding strength over 40 with online fitness coaching
As she rebuilt from hip surgery, our goal wasn’t to push Danni harder—it was to help her train with purpose.
I created her programs to blend strength training with conditioning that improved mobility, balance, and endurance. Before long, she was back to sprint interval training—something she once thought she’d never do again.
“I’m up to 10.2 mph sprints for 30 seconds, five or six rounds, and I feel incredible,” she said. “My hip and knee don’t bother me at all. I’m moving better than I have in years.”
Her workouts became something she looked forward to—not out of obligation, but out of confidence.
“I’ve always loved the gym,” she said, “but now I love it for what it does for my body and my mind.”

Confidence Beyond the Numbers
For Danni, the biggest transformation wasn’t physical—it was emotional.
“The hardest part for me has always been the scale,” she said. “But I’ve learned that even when the scale doesn’t move, my body is still changing. I’m stronger. I’m sleeping better. I feel confident again.”
Today, she approaches fitness with freedom, not frustration. She is rebuilding strength over 40 with online fitness coaching. She’s even planning her own workouts now, continuing to apply everything she’s learned through online coaching.
“I feel like I have the knowledge and tools to keep going. I know exactly what to do—and how to adjust if things change. That’s empowering.”

Her Advice for Women Thinking About Coaching
“The timing never feels perfect,” Danni said. “You just have to take that first step. The first step to sign up. The first step to get to the gym. The first step to start your meal plan. Once you take that first step, everything else falls into place—and the results are worth it.”

What Danni’s Journey Shows
Danni’s story is proof that even with a demanding career, a busy life, and recovery from surgery, women can build strong, healthy, confident bodies at any age.
Online coaching gave her the tools, structure, and support she needed to thrive—and the freedom to do it on her own time.
“You’ve been so knowledgeable, present when needed, and motivating,” Danni told me. “You’ve given me so much knowledge, and I’ll carry that forward in everything I do.”
For women who want results that last, it’s not about restriction or extremes.
It’s about having the right plan, the right guidance, and the right support.
If you’re ready to find out what that feels like, I’d love to help.
