WHAT THINGS HAPPENED THAT LED TO YOU WORK WITH JULIE LOHRE AS YOUR ONLINE PERSONAL TRAINER?

2 special people in my life passed away at a young age, both within a year of time.  These events made me remember that each day is a gift and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.  I needed to stop making excuses as to why I was putting off some goals that I have in life.  

One of these goals was to take my health and fitness to the next level, be a fit mum, see what I was capable of achieving and to lose body fat %.  I have worked out daily for a long time and have completed other general bodybuilding programs, but I wasn’t seeing the results that I wanted.  

There is never going to be a perfect time to start! So I decided to take the plunge!

WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENTS?

I am all about GOALS. Goals are very important to me and help keep me focused. Once I sign up for something or make a goal I am committed. 

Here are a few of my accomplishments:

Competed in several 5 and 10k`s with the goal being to give it 100% and beat my previous time.  

Completed 3 half-marathons. The goal for the 1sthalf was to finish in under 2 hours (which I did) the goal for the other 2 was to shave time off.

Received certifications to teach Insanity and Turbo Kick (I no longer teach classes).

Ran the Warrior Dash

I have to say that my biggest accomplishment has been becoming a really fit mum and working with Julie Lohre’s Team FitBody

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT JULIE LOHRE’S ONLINE PERSONAL TRAINING PROGRAM?

I started using (and fell in love with) Beverly International Nutrition products a few years ago.  I discovered Julie through a No Nonsense magazine and started following her.  

WHAT WERE YOUR ORIGINAL CONCERNS ABOUT ONLINE PERSONAL TRAINING AND ONLINE FITNESS COACHING?

I was nervous that I would be sent a general nutrition and workout plan that was sent to everyone. I was also concerned that I would be assigned to someone (an employee) other than working directly with Julie. I decided to work with Julie after speaking with her and realizing I would be working solely with her… not an assistant. Julie reassured me that the nutrition and workout plans would be customized specifically for me.  I have a lot of food allergies and having customized nutrition plan was huge for me!

TELL US ABOUT THE PROGRESS YOU HAVE MADE OVER TIME.

The mental changes have been huge.  I feel BALANCED with my relationship with food.  Prior to working with Julie, I would feel guilty after a cheat/treat mean and would often end up binge eating.   

Since working with her, I have seen how what I consume affects my workouts.  I now see that it is not DIET and EXERCISE. It is more like FUEL and TRAIN!  Now when I do have a “treat” meal, I know that it will affect my energy for my workouts. So I just make sure that it is worth it, then I enjoy it and move on.  (I don’t want to miss out on the fun things in life either.)  It’s all about BALANCE (and no guilt) and I feel like I have found that.  

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HARDEST PART OF THIS JOURNEY?

Overcoming self-doubt and being patient with the results.  We are all guilty of comparing ourselves to others at times.  There were times on my fit mum journey that I would look at someone else’s journey and wonder if I had what it takes because my progress was slower.  I learned a lot from this struggle and wouldn’t change this part of the journey. Progress is progress, no matter how fast or how slow. Each of us is on our own journey with different paths for getting there.

HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW?  HOW HAS YOUR OUTLOOK ABOUT YOUR BODY AND YOUR LIFE CHANGED?

I feel more energetic and optimistic! I feel  much more confident with many aspects of my life.

WHAT IS THE BEST AND WORST PART ABOUT WORKING WITH JULIE LOHRE?

With online personal training, Julie requires that I check in often. Those 2 week check in’s have kept me accountable and the workouts have pushed me out of my comfort zone.  Worst part?  2 week check in. (haha) 😉Honestly , there has not been a bad part in working with Julie!
