FITBODY Success Story · Body Recomposition for Women Over 40
How Jenna Rebuilt Her Body After Three Pregnancies, and Kept It Strong at 40
Jenna Dunham gained and lost the weight of three pregnancies. What finally made her results last was not another reset. It was learning to train and eat in a way she could sustain for life. This is her story as my client.
“I could honestly never have gotten back into shape after my babies without Julie. She helped me find a real balance between fitness and real life, and it stuck.”

The Woman Who Rebuilt Her Body Again and Again
Most transformation stories end at the after photo. Jenna Dunham’s real story is what came next, and what came next, and what is still happening years later. She is a Florence, Kentucky mom, a Pilates instructor with more than 15 years of teaching behind her, a runner, and someone whose body changed dramatically through her pregnancies. Across three of them, she gained and then had to rebuild against 80 pounds, 30 pounds, and 70 pounds of pregnancy weight.
She was never lazy. She ran, she raced, she taught classes, she chased after her kids. But rebuilding her body again and again taught her something most quick-fix programs never address. Getting back in shape once is hard enough. Doing it sustainably, and then holding onto it for years while living a full and busy life, is a completely different skill. That is the part Jenna eventually mastered, and it is why at 40 she is leaner and stronger than she was a decade ago.
Jenna’s Before and After
What Finally Made It Last
When Jenna started working with me, the goal was not just to drop the weight one more time. It was to build a body she could keep. That meant a real strategy rather than another round of restriction. Structured strength training to build lean muscle and reshape her body, nutrition built around fueling her training instead of starving it, and a plan that adjusted to her real life as a mom, a teacher, and a runner.
“Her food plans and workouts are for real people. They are not unreasonable or restrictive. They may not be easy, but they are balanced and built to fit your actual life.”

That is the heart of body recomposition, building muscle while losing fat, so the result is not just a smaller number on the scale but a genuinely different, stronger shape. And because it is built on sustainable habits rather than extremes, it holds.
Strength, Not Endless Cardio
Jenna already loved to run. What changed her body was adding structured, progressive strength training on top of the cardio she enjoyed. Lifting is what builds the lean muscle that reshapes a woman’s body and keeps her metabolism strong, especially heading into her 40s. It is the difference between simply being smaller and being strong, defined, and athletic.
The results were strong enough to get noticed. The photos from a shoot we did together were good enough that Oxygen Magazine featured her as one of their athletes, and she went on to model for my FITBODY Magazine as well.
“I love the way I feel, inside and out, when I make fitness a priority in my life. My kids motivate me the most. I want to be a good example for them.”
Jenna Dunham, 40, Florence, KentuckyYears of Coaching, Directly With Me
Jenna and I have worked together for years. Not through an app, and not with a coach on a team. Directly with me, the same way I work with every woman in my program. That continuity is a big part of why her results lasted. I knew her history, her body, and her life, and her plan evolved with all of it over time.
“Julie is one of the most sincere and caring people I know. She really helps me find a balance between fitness and real life. She wants this to be a lifestyle, not just a quick result.”

Questions Women Ask About Jenna’s Story
Can you really keep body recomposition results long term?
Yes, and Jenna is proof. The reason most transformations do not last is that they are built on extreme restriction the body cannot sustain. A true body recomposition built on strength training, adequate nutrition, and habits that fit real life is different. Jenna has held her results for years because the approach was sustainable from the start rather than a crash that always rebounds.
Can you get back in shape after multiple pregnancies?
Absolutely. Jenna rebuilt her body after three pregnancies that added 80, 30, and 70 pounds. The key was not punishing cardio or starvation, but structured strength training to rebuild lean muscle, paired with nutrition that fueled her recovery. Each rebuild taught her more about what her body needed, and the lasting version came once the strategy was right.
How long did Jenna work with Julie?
Jenna has trained directly with me for years, not through an app or a team of coaches. That long-term, direct relationship is a major reason her results have lasted. I knew her history and her body, and her plan adjusted with her life over time. Every woman in my program works with me the same way.
