I am a 33 year old working mother of one. Keeping active has always been a hobby of mine whether it was in spinning classes or with outdoor workouts. A few years ago I was looking for something new, I was tired of spinning, yoga and cardio. I decided that I didn’t just want to be SKINNY, I wanted to be STRONG. I worked hard at changing my eating and exercise habits. I was becoming healthier and stronger so I started to thinking what’s next. I went and watched a friend compete in a fitness competition and instantly knew I wanted to compete as well. So I decided that at the next local show I would be competing. It was the first time I set a fitness goal. Always before it was just about staying active. I wanted to make sure that I trained the right and healthy way. A friend recommended Julie. I am so glad they did. It has been an amazing experience and I am in the best shape of my life.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments?

I started working out about 2 years ago when I moved to Elizabethtown, KY. At that time my goal was to be strong. I was most proud the day I was able to finally do a pull up. Sounds silly but they are hard and I knew I was becoming stronger when I could finally do one on my own. With the help of Julie Lohre in her Online Contest Prep Training Program, I competed in my first fitness show, the NPC Kentucky Muscle. I did better than I expected and finished 3rd in open class F and 5th in novice class D. I was extremely proud of myself.

What are your fitness goals?

My fitness goal is to continue to compete in fitness shows and figure competitions. I hope each time to become more competitive.

Tranformation Info

I made my most significant changes over the time I worked directly with Julie Lohre in the Figure Competition Training Program. I was able to drop body fat while adding muscle. Learning what I needed to eat in order to build muscle was a big part of the transformation.

What do you love most about fitness?

I love feeling strong! I am more confident now than I have ever been.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

My son motivates me. I feel like I should lead by example. I don’t want him sitting on the couch all day and watching tv. I want him to get out, experience things in life, and set goals for himself.

Favorite clean eating food or recipe

Cookie Dough Muscle Oats are an amazing way to start the day. A great breakfast food!

Other comments or thoughts to share?

When I started preparing for my Figure Competition, my biggest concern was that I did everything in a healthy way. I didn’t want to do any calorie restriction or something that would damage my body just to compete in a figure show! Julie Lohre created training and nutrition programs for me where none of that was necessary. I never felt like I had to over do my workouts to exhaustion and my competition diet plan kept my body fueled. It was really a great experience. Anyone looking to become healthier all around should consider working with Julie Lohre. Even if your goal isn’t to compete. You will feel great!
