Julie Gabrielle Parent

    Personal Information

    I’m 24 years old and a fairly new native to Cincinnati, OH. I am an Eastern KY University graduate, and am now currently pursuing 2 Master’s degrees (Health Administration and Health Informatics) at Northern KY University and Strayer University. I work for Butler County Children’s Services Trauma Treatment facility as an administrative. I have always been a very active person.  I dabbled in track, soccer, basketball, etc but dance was always a passion of mine. I took ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, and hip hop for many, many years.

    What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

    1st Place Ms Natural Kentucky Bikini at the NANBF Northeast/Southwest Kentucky Classic, which was the 2nd show I ever competed in.

    WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

    Numerically speaking, I went from 18% BF to 11% BF in 10 weeks. My weight remained pretty much the same throughout the 12 week prep because what I was losing in BF I was gaining in muscle. What has helped me the most was the variance in my nutrition and exercise plans.  I was never limited to eating the same things day in and day out.

    What do you enjoy most about fitness?

    What I enjoy most about fitness is how it makes me feel, inside and out. I love watching my body change with each minor tweak, increasing muscle strength, but also, the positive mentality and overall well being.

    What are your fitness goals?

    I plan to continue competing for a few seasons. But outside of competitions, my goal is to incorporate the healthy habits that Julie has taught me throughout my life, and help others do the same along the way.

    What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

    Besides how it makes me feel (more energized, focused, etc), I love seeing progress, regardless of size, and I love the feeling of success.  Julie’s team also continuously motivates me.  We help each other with each little tip, tool, or quote that helps us get through the day.

    What is the best part about working with Julie?

    Julie is always so encouraging.  There have been many times where she pointed out things that I couldn’t see in myself. Her support is so genuine, and always with your best interest in mind.  There are many unhealthy approaches, especially with competing, but she makes sure that everything you do is healthy and safe.

    What is the worst part about working with Julie?

    One word: Burpees.

    Favorite 'diet' food:

    Cookie dough muscle oats. Ohh my gosh, having these for breakfast almost daily makes me such a happy camper. These are essentially just UMP, oats, unsweetened applesauce, and a few chocolate chips. So filling and so very yummy!

    Any other comments or anything else you would like to share?

    The friendships I’ve made working with Julie and the girls on her team are priceless to me, and such a blessing. It’s astounding how you can walk in as strangers, and become family by the time the season is over.
